Young Women, New Shirts and Friends in Savusavu Aug 2013

Sis Walker and Young Women learning how to lead music! We had
a good turn out. The men were outside making a volleyball court.
Our Branch Pres. Vatulevu Seniceva at M.H grocery store. We
love this good humble brother. All security just got new shirts!

New shirts and ties from the 8th ward. Pres vatu on far right!

Our dear Bro Nem.
Pres Vatu father-in-law

A small village in the interior, Nacereyaga. We went to encourage
them to build their base for a water tank and this was where we found
them on a Monday afternoon. That is a kava bowl in the middle.

We did teach them about clean water.

Keper and his grandfather (74 yrs) who are doing some work
for doctor.

Both are hard workers!! Keper is 13 yrs. I asked him how to spell
his name, since I wasn't sure what he was saying. He said 'E,L,M'
which tells me he can't read or write. Very Common!

This is Teresea's boy, Esala. Spends every day at the market with her.
He is finally starting to warm up to me.

Brother Nem gets water after 30 years! Aug 2 2013

Bro Nem and E Howard turning on the water! When we woke up this morning we saw
that we had missed a call from Bro Nem.(He had called at 3:10am) He is a member of our branch and we have
been helping him get hooked up with WAF water after living in his home for 30 years!!
He had called to say that they had finally come and installed his blue box and he was
ready for water. Would we please go to WAF and get them to turn it on? We went into town
and stopped at WAF and talked to them. They were quite excited and told us they had installed his
blue box yesterday. We told them he was ready for water, but their transport was in Labasa so
they couldn't go out. Then they told E Howard to just go do it for them. They talked about it
for a minute deciding if it would be a problem, but said for him to do it and showed him how.
Bro Nem was glad to see us!

This is his tap in front of his home.

Look at that pressure!! Better than what we have in our house!
E Howard, Bro Nem, and E Walker. Notice Bro Nem's gumboots!

This is the catchment basin above Bro Nem's home that provides water for all of Savusavu.

Hiking up to the catchment.

Bro Nem is a convert to the church. He walks 45 minutes at a good clip
to get to activities at church. And usually walks home in the dark. He rides
the church transport on Sundays. What a wonderful, faithful Brother!
He is 64 years old!
